License renewal, as well as other services, will be available in the Bone Student Center Old Main Room on Thursday, Jan. 31. The Illinois Secretary of State staff will be available to the students, faculty and staff of ISU from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The staff will be available for help with renewal, replacement and correction of driver's licenses and state ID's. Additionally, vehicle registration renewal stickers will be available.
ISU specialty license plates, passenger vehicle plates, passenger vehicle license plates, B-truck plates and registration to vote will be offered as well.
Also, the service of registering vehicle titles and parking placards for persons with disabilities will be offered. These services will also be available March 21 and April 24.
The Secretary of State's Office is reaching out to college campuses by making their services more available, according to Jeff Helms, assistant director at the Bone Student Center.
The mobile units go to universities that offer collegiate license plates. When an individual purchases a collegiate license plate, $25 goes to the ISU scholarship fund.
"It's an opportunity for students, faculty and staff to promote their university though ISU collegiate plates and also contribute to the ISU scholarship fund," Henry Haupt, deputy press secretary for the Secretary of State's Office, said.
"We are pleased with the number of individuals using the services," Haupt said. Recently a mobile unit serviced 193 people.
"It's really just an incredible convenience," Helms said. "It's considerably less time than if you go to the Secretary of State's Office in the community," Helms added.
