The Student Government Association and Campus Catering Services have created a new project that will allow registered student organizations to have inexpensive but tasty food at their meetings.
For over a year, SGA and Campus Catering Services have developed a menu that can fit the needs of any RSO.
"Different items on the menu can be accommodated for any size of people," Karalee Rotz, public relations director for SGA, said.
Not only does the new service provide a variety of choices, but also the food items come at a relatively cheaper price.
"We have cut prices to be more affordable," Dave Horstein, student body president, said.
The project was developed after budgetary concerns were raised by RSOs. "RSOs struggle to have catering when they have events in the Bone," Horstein said.
This posed a problem considering organizations are required to use the catering service while in the Bone Student Center.
However, Horstein hopes the new prices will attract more RSOs to use the catering service.
The incentive for RSOs to provide food at meetings could benefit the dynamics of the organizations.
"Food is very important in any social setting. It brings people together," Rotz said.
While never a specific goal, another potential benefit to this project would be more traffic entering the Bone Student Center.
"We are always trying to draw more students into the Bone," Horstein said.
"The menu will be available November 9 on the SGA website but you must call catering services to place the order," Rotz said.
Rotz also explained that you must be an RSO registered with the Dean of Students office, have an ISU account number, be an officer of the organization and place your order no less than five business days before the event.
