It is never too early to talk about 'Da Bears
Brad Owens
Issue date: 7/11/07 Section: Sports
The last main issue the Bears have is whether or not Cedric Benson will be able to take on the full responsibility of being the number one running back. He got hurt in the first quarter of the Super Bowl, which brings up the question of his health.
He is a very explosive running back who sees the hole quickly and jets right through it. He also uses his power to run over defenses instead of trying to dance around them. As
long as he can get more strength and
work on his agility, he is going to be
one fine running back.
Now, there is no way I would have gone through this article without mentioning Rex Grossman. I know he is the main topic in most fans' discussions, but I don't think it's a big issue to the team.
He did have some bad games last year and got on the wrong side of almost every Bears fan, but he is a good quarterback.
He made some reachable goals this off-season of having 30 touchdowns and less than 10 interceptions, and all fans should know that he will work his butt off trying to attain those goals.
If he can focus during training camp on fundamentals and awareness, he will become a great quarterback.
Overall, I think the Chicago Bears will be ready to defend their NFC title and bring home their second Lombardi Trophy come February.
