Greeks give to charities
While some students may join Greek organizations to make new friends and meet new people, or as a way to become more socially active on campus, other students join as a way to give back to their communities through service projects and donations.
That is precisely what a number of Greek organizations at ISU have proved, through reports received at the Greek Affairs Office stating that Greek organization members helped raise more than $23,000, in addition to over 1,034 volunteer services hours performed to more than 26 charities throughout the fall 2006 academic semester.…

Suspected meteorite goes through window
At a 71-degree angle, going 60 mph, an object went through the house of Bloomington residents David and Dee Riddle at 9:40 a.m. Monday morning. Although it has not been officially confirmed, the object is suspected to be a meteorite.

NCHS implements pay cards in cafeterias
Normal Community High School has recently implemented a pay card system in their cafeterias similar to the ones used in the ISU dining halls. As of last October, the students have used their ID cards to buy their lunches, and Principal of NCHS Jeanette Nuckolls believes the results have been very positive.…

Mich. man caught in woods talking to police about wife's death
PETOSKEY, Mich. (AP) - A man authorities tracked down in the snow of a wilderness area confessed to killing and dismembering his wife, and described the "horrific" details surrounding her death, a sheriff said Monday.
