Normal police provided medical records of missing ISU student Olamide Adeyooye to Mississppi authorities Monday after receiving word that an unidentified female body had been recovered.

The Normal Police received a call yesterday afternoon from Mississippi State Highway Patrol that an unidentified body had been discovered, NPD Lieutenant Mark Kotte said.

We are currently investigating to see if that is the body of Olamide Adeyooye, Kotte said in a press briefing.

At this moment, what we are trying to do is identify the person, he said, and we are going to have to do that through various techniques of identification.

According to Kotte, through both dental and medical records, the NPD hopes an identification, positive or not, will be completed sometime Tuesday.

Kotte said that this is the first notification the department has received of a body thus far in the investigation.

"All the persons of interest we are looking at, none of which, to my knowledge have any true, strong ties to that state," Kotte said of the find in Mississippi.

Adeyooye's Green 1996 Toyota Corolla is still missing, and Kotte added that searches locally have not stopped because of this new information.

Adeyooye has been missing since October 13th.
