Campus Crusade for Christ has been asking the question, "Do You Agree?" as a campaign leading up to their Thursday discussion which provoked students to voice their opinions on Christianity.

The words "Do You Agree?" have recently been seen chalked on the Quad and on T-shirts of members of Campus Crusade for Christ.

Junior history major Caleb Hoover and junior elementary education major Jenny Henaghan are both members of Campus Crusade for Christ who said they have received numerous reactions from students who are curious about what exactly "Do You Agree?" stands for.

"When we wear the shirts, everybody seems to stop and ask us about it," Henaghan said.

"So far we have gotten a lot of mixed reactions," Hoover said. "We stop and explain exactly what it is and then some students agree and some students don't, but we do usually discuss it with them and then tell them about the presentation."

Hoover and Henaghan said the presentation was not just one person giving a sermon, but a chance for numerous students with different beliefs to come and discuss spirituality and what it means to them.

Campus Crusade for Christ created a Web site, iagreewithkyle.com, which offered the representative's beliefs.

They also set up idontagreewithkyle.com, where students could post their opinions and objections to the statement, which received more than 130 messages at the time of the discussion.

Hoover and Henaghan also said groups on facebook.com were established in response to the campaign.

The discussion began with the representative for Campus Crusade for Christ speaking about his own personal beliefs about how he found religion in college, what spirituality means to him and how he believes his own beliefs are placed into five categories including grace, man, God, Christ and faith.

Afterward, students raised topics such as Christianity being the only way to salvation, what happens to sinners if they do not repent, why are there numerous contradictions in the Bible and why Jesus' message is more valid than those of Muhammad or Buddha.

The student audience had mixed reactions on whether or not they agreed or disagreed with the presentation

"I'm a little disappointed," Andrew Higgins, junior philosophy major and president of the philosophy club, said.

"I was hoping that the spokesperson for Christianity would actually know his own religion. It was made clear that he didn't even read all of the Bible before he presented himself.".

Others agreed with 'Kyle'.

"I really appreciate what [the representative] has done and I think it's amazing," Autumn Berger, senior early childhood education major and Campus Crusade for Christ member, said.

"He managed to bring together people with different beliefs and share his heart and his own beliefs while accepting others' opinions."

Campus Crusade for Christ members said overall they were pleased with the outcome of the presentation, and surprised to see the number of people in attendance.
